I am Gisele Reid the editor of this Cricket Blog, the oldest of three sisters in a traditional family of six.
Although I do not profess to be an authority, my love for sports and a passion for sports medicine has lead me to this important point in my life. I don’t know where I got this passion from but if I were to trace sports in the family then my maternal grandfather would be the one who may have had a greater influence.
His unmatched career best in local cricket has seen highest batting scores of 244 runs in a single innings, 10 wickets in a single inning where he went on to score 100 runs and a flamboyance of 31 centuries in BCA and 8 in BCL before he retired at age 63 in 2001.
This is an opportunity to bring together the opinions of many spectators of sports –Cricket, from all over the world as they share their views during the experience of World Cup 2007. Here I intend to give all viewers of World Cup a forum to let the world know what they are seeing during the games and their interpretation of decisions by players, umpires, managers, coaches and anyone else who affects the outcome of these games.
Here are just a few of the topics I hope we can cover.
- Performances with the bat and ball and in the field,
- Decisions of the umpires, captains and coaches,
- Predictions of games and placement of winners
- Favorite plays and players
Spread the word and let us all enjoy World Cup 2007.
